Frequently Asked Question's
At Jamies Catering & Events we have put together a list of questions that are frequently asked by our previous clients when they were planning their events. If you have a concern or question that you don't see addressed here, feel free to contact us via email or through our website.
Q: What areas do you service?
A: We are a leading catering & events company based in Berkshire on the Slough Trading Estate, we provide catering for a whole host of corporate & private clients across Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, London & the Home Countries. Please check with our team if further afield, we can normally accommodate larger events and weddings if slightly longer distance.
Q: Is it just the catering that you do?
A: At Jamies Catering & Events we can offer as much or little as required. With many years experience and contacts behind us we can either supply ourselves or know someone to create your perfect event. Just some services we can supply and offer are event management, venue finder, venue styling, furniture hire, marquee hire, bar hire, front of house & back of house staff and much more!
Q: Will you be able to work in our kitchen?
A: Of course! Our chefs are highly skilled to work in all conditions. We are adaptable and flexible to accommodate your needs. If concerned we recommend one of our team visits your venue, from here and if required we can adapt the perfect menu within the space we have.
Q: Can you cater for special dietary requirements?
A: Absolutely! At Jamies Catering & Events we're proud to make pretty much everything in-house. With this in mind we have full control and more importantly the flexibility of adjusting menus to suit. Please ensure you let our team know during your booking process of any allergies and additional dietary requirements your guest may have.
Q: How long can you hold a proposed date we have?
A: This greatly depends on your event date. The summer months especially, along with the Christmas period is always incredibly busy and we tend to get fully booked very quickly. We will however keep in contact with you if we're close to confirming another booking. Please note, as soon as we receive a deposit for your event, we then get your booking confirmed and turn away any additional events thereafter that may conflict your booking.
Q: How long can you honour a quote for?
A: As a standard rule we usually hold a quote for 1 month calender month. We do however continue to quote with additional clients and sadly we do operate a first come first serve basis with our booking process. The good news is we can sustain and accommodate multiple events on a day, up till we become fully booked.
Q: Can you refund us if a guest cancels at short notice?
A: Unfortunately we don’t refund if a guest cancels. Once you confirm the final numbers, we order all ingredients accordingly and start all the preparation for your event.
Q: Is it possible to try your food before booking with you?
A: Yes indeed, we encourage this! Especially weddings we always find it hugely beneficial to come to us at our production kitchen and sample a tasting session. Not only can you try a selection of menu options you're considering but you also have the chance to see our set-up along with hopefully meeting some of our team who make our events happen. This service does come with a fee of £100.00 excluding VAT, however this cost is fully deductible if or when you choose to booking your event with Jamies Catering & Events.
Q: What payments structures do you have in place to allow us to book in immediately?
A: For wedding events we ask for a 25% deposit which is taken to secure your date and get your booking confirmed. The main payment of 50% is payable 3 months before your wedding day and the final payment (approx 25%) and when we confirm all elements of your invoice, is due 2 weeks prior to your big Day! With all other bookings we request a 50% deposit at time of booking, with the remainder 50% balance due 2 weeks prior to your event. If any booking is made less than 1 month prior to your event we kindly ask that your invoice is settled in full at time of your booking.
We are flexible and will always try to accommodate alternative payment structures. Please feel free to ask us for different options if need be.
Q: Can I tailor any of your menus?
A: We have such a fantastic range of menu ideas and dishes within our menu page. Please feel free to use as a guide, we can easily adapt and bespoke all menus to meet your exact requirements. If you like dishes from different menus then please let us know and we'll gladly alter and bespoke pricing where required.
Q: Do you have vegetarian and vegan options?
A: Absolutely, please speak with one of our event coordinators and they will be able to identify the vegetarian and vegan options that we offer. Over the last couple of years this has been such a growing necessity within the catering industry, we've had to adapt and provide full menu selections to cater for all!
Q: Once we have booked in with you, who do we need to contact?
A: We always have a great team on-hand but we do try and give you just the one point of contact through to the build up of your event, This way they get to know you and more importantly your event details throughout the whole booking process. We make sure that we check in with you regularly so that we can make your day as stress free and successful as possible.
Q: Do we have any further meetings in the run up to your event?
A: We will make sure that you feel as comfortable as possible. We will check in frequently but face to face meetings are encouraged, especially a venue meeting to establish the set up and we can through the logistics for your event.

A: We're pleased to say all of our staff have the required skills and training to make sure that your days goes smoothly and without a hitch! "Thank you to you and the team for a wonderful evening on Saturday. The food was really delicious and we had lots of lovely comments - the lamb and steak in particular were wonderful and the lemon tarts were fantastic - and huge! The profiteroles were polished off later in the evening and with a household of people staying yesterday the fridge now looks remarkably empty! It was so nice not to have to worry about anything during the evening and just enjoy it ourselves.”
"Thanks for doing a wonderful job of the catering for our wedding party. Everyone was extremely complimentary about the quality of the food. We certainly thought the canapes all tasted fabulous.
Please pass on our thanks to the lovely girls who did the service, many many people said how friendly and nice they were.
We could not have been more pleased with everything. Thanks for being a super caterer and lovely chap to have in our home."
